Galgos del Sol is a small charity rescue based in Murcia, Spain that rescues abandoned and injured galgos (Spanish hunting greyhounds), rehabilitates them and finds them forever homes in the UK and other parts of Europe.

Thousands of galgos are abandoned or killed annually at the end of each short hunting season and as they are not always viewed as potential pets in Spain, they usually end up in perreras (pounds), where their lives are ended, often not in ways we would consider humane.

Galgos del Sol is entirely dependent on fundraising for its survival and is run by three dedicated women, Tina, Angela and Gaynor, assisted by a group of dedicated volunteers based in Spain, France and the UK.

After seeing the wonderful work that this charity does Penny decided she wanted to help raise some much needed cash! She will be at the ANTISHA gift shop in PLAYA FLAMENCA centro commercial (behind Super Cor on N 332) on MONDAY 30th MAY from 10.30am to 4.30pm offering mini treatments, talking about angels, reiki, animal healing, crystals and all things spiritual....Penny is asking everyone who has a treatment or comes along for advice or information to contribute 5e to the charity....also BIG bags of dog biscuits are more than welcome! ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE DAY WILL GO TO THE CHARITY so please go along to meet Penny and help a good cause

As you all know it's been a rough few months from rouge builders to water leaks and new floors but we have finally done it and the new pole dance studio is ready and waiting to go.

New Successful Speakers Club

An invitation to a new Business orientated Successful Speakers Club starting on Friday 27th May at 4pm in Manolo´s Restaurant, Doña Pepa, Quesada, CV 905 by Lidl and Consum.

Part of the global network of Toastmasters International we are opening a new Club in English and in Spanish to help improve communication skills. In business better communication equals more money, so I am sure it is something that we would all welcome.

There is no pressure to speak at the meetings (unless you want to), and visiting is always FREE.

MAGGIES FITNESS CLASSES

Hi, Its Maggie, State Registered Nurse, and NCEHS Fitness Instructor, here letting you know that I am still teaching my Fitness Classes at the Emerald Isle, La Florida every Monday and Wednesday and Friday at 10.15. The girls meet at 10, class starts at 10.15(ish) , a good hours work, then coffee after it. I have been teaching 7 years at the Emerald Isle, uninterupted... No Zumba, No fancy terms for the classes, just good old fashioned "everyone can do it" classes for the young and the not so young age group. I have girls over 70 and under 50... we do our low impact aerobics followed by good old fashioned, wonderful toning exercises followed by relax and stretches... music is variable.. at the moment its latino stuff,(makes you want to dance) but we have some blues and Motown sounds for exercising to aswell.. 4.50 euro a class, great meeting group all so friendly and welcome all new guests. We are more than a class, we are a Fitness Club... OH... forgot to add that we change to Aqua Aerobics (water exercises) end of June... well depending on how hot it gets and how much the water has warmed up???
